Brentford vs Walsall - Jota to miss out for Brentford with fresh injury

Posted Friday, January 08, 2016 by PA

Brentford will be without Spanish midfielder Jota when they host Walsall in the FA Cup third round.

Jota, who recently recovered from a long-term ankle injury, has been ruled out of the clash with a calf strain.

Boss Dean Smith, who left the Saddlers to take over at Brentford in November, is still without defender Andreas Bjelland and striker Scott Hogan (both knee).

Midfielder John Swift is available to Smith after extending his loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.

Tom Bradshaw and Rico Henry could make their Walsall returns after ankle injuries.

The pair played in a 5-2 Under-21 defeat to Shrewsbury on Tuesday where 12-goal striker Bradshaw scored.

Sam Mantom also featured following his own ankle problem and all three are available for the reunion with Smith.

Isaiah Osbourne has returned to training and is nearing a comeback following a knee injury which has sidelined him since signing in the summer.
