Crawley Town vs Cambridge United - Double injury doubt for Crawley
Posted Friday, January 08, 2016 by PA
Crawley manager Mark Yates has two new injury worries for the Sky Bet League Two clash at home to Cambridge.
Midfielder Jimmy Smith has been ruled out for three months with a broken foot and on-loan defender Josh Yorwerth is unavailable due to a hamstring injury.
The Reds currently sit 14th in the table and Yates hopes to sign some new players in the January transfer window having seen four loanees return to their parent clubs recently.
Defenders Mitch Hancox, Christian Scales and Josh Emmanuel and midfielder Conor Henderson all left Crawley this week.
QPR defender Darnell Furlong could make his Cambridge debut after joining on a month's loan.
Changes could be expected from last week's 4-1 loss to AFC Wimbledon, with striker Rory Gaffney in contention after returning to the Abbey Stadium following five goals in seven appearances for Bristol Rovers.
Ryan Donaldson (ankle) could be back within a fortnight, while Cameron Gayle (hamstring) is out for three more weeks.
Midfielder Keith Keane (groin) remains a long-term absentee and defender Greg Taylor (ankle) is out for the season.
