Arsenal have made a £44.7m bid for Liverpool and Manchester United target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Spanish journalist Kike Marin claims the Gunners have tabled an offer for the deadly Borussia Dortmund striker.
Aubameyang has scored 24 goals in 23 appearances in all competitions this season putting top European clubs on red alert.
Jurgen Klopp will have to move fast to rival Arsene Wenger as he looks to add attacking options to his squad.
Liverpool could also be beaten to the signing of Paris St-Germain ace Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to reports.
Italian outlet Premium Sports claim Chelsea will meet Lavezzi's representatives in London next week to secure a deal.
The Argentine's contract runs out in the summer and he is keen on a move to the Premier League.
He is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside of France due to having less than six months to run on his current deal.
Klopp has recalled forward Sheyi Ojo from his loan spell at Wolves.
The 18-year-old will return to Anfield to ease Liverpool's injury crisis after scoring three times in 19 appearances in the Championship.
The Liverpool Echo claim Ojo will go straight into the squad to face Exeter in the FA Cup third round on Friday evening.
Klopp is currently without a raft of first-team stars including Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Martin Skrtel.
