Considering how Zinedine Zidane praised Gareth Bale in his first press conference as Real Madrid manager on Tuesday, it seems strange that the English papers are still peddling the Manchester United rumours.
The Bale to Manchester United in January transfer rumours seem to consist solely of the fact that the Welsh flyer enjoyed playing under Rafa Benitez.
But, if Zidane continues to play Bale centrally and the Welshman scores goals and bags assists, a move to a struggling Manchester United side makes little sense.
Nevertheless, the Daily Mail report on Wednesday that Manchester United will bid 75 million pounds for Bale in this January transfer window.
Incredibly, the Mail report that Manchester United have made an inquiry for Bale in every transfer window since he left Spurs for The Bernabeu.
The Mail add that only three Premier League teams can afford Bale’s 300,000 pounds-a-week wages: United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
And, that Bale would prefer to join Manchester United where he ever to leave The Bernabeu.
Finally, the Daily Mail suggest that Ryan Giggs could swing a move for Bale to Manchester United. With Louis van Gaal’s assistant manager a childhood hero of the Real Madrid Galactico.
Whilst Manchester United might well bid for Bale this January, it seems highly unlikely that the Welshman would leave Real Madrid at the start of the Zinedine Zidane revolution.
