Hazard suffers another injury setback

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard's woeful season continued as he picked up another during his side's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Hazard appeared to injure his groin while shooting in the ninth minute and he subsequently signalled to the bench that he could not continue.The 24-year-old would then limp off the pitch after just 16 minutes of action.

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink confirmed that Hazard, who was replaced by Pedro, will undergo an MRI scan to determine the severity of his injury on Monday.

"Hazard sprained his leg, he has a little problem with a groin muscle," Hiddink told reporters. "We will see more with an MRI scan [on Monday]."

The Belgium international's injury is a major blow for Chelsea as he only recently recovered from a hip problem he sustained during the Blues' 2-1 loss to Leicester City on December 14.

The reigning PFA and Football Writers' Player of the Year subsequently missed Chelsea's 3-1 win over Sunderland before coming off the bench during the Blues' 2-2 draw with Watford.

Hazard returned to the starting line-up in the goalless draw against Manchester United on December 28.

Hazard has failed to live up to expectations this season and has not scored a single goal in all competitions, and only has four assists to his name.
