Howe: Francis can miss one game

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has seemingly ruled out an appeal against the red card shown to Simon Francis in the goalless draw at Leicester on Saturday.
The Cherries captain was controversially dismissed on 57 minutes for his sliding tackle on Jamie Vardy inside the penalty area, with television replays showing he touched the ball.
Howe's side escaped further punishment, however, as Foxes winger Riyad Mahrez saw his resulting penalty saved by visiting goalkeeper Arthur Boruc.
Howe felt the referee got both decisions wrong, although he is unlikely to contest the sending-off after being informed that Francis will only be suspended for one game - their FA Cup third-round clash with Birmingham next weekend.
"There wasn't any aggression. I was asking him about suspensions and potential ways we could minimise any bans," the 38-year-old said.
"I do believe we would appeal it if he was due a three-game ban. But I am told it is just one game so with the FA Cup coming up, it is not too bad for us.
"For me it wasn't a penalty. Simon has come from the side and got a clear touch on the ball. It is not a penalty or a free-kick."
