Albion Rovers FC 1 - 2 Airdrie United: Late James Lister goal earns Airdrieonians win over Albion
Posted Sunday, January 03, 2016 by PA
Substitute James Lister's last-gasp header saw Airdrieonians secure a 2-1 victory at Albion, ending a three-match losing streak.
The match got off to an entertaining start as David Cox hit a free-kick off the crossbar for the visitors before Paul Willis was denied by a goal-line clearance at the other end.
Joshua Mullin had a powerful effort for Rovers and they took the lead in the 26th minute when John Gemmell headed home Scott McBride's cross.
Mullin saw a shot well saved as the visitors pushed for a leveller which would arrive in the 67th minute as Alan Reid put past his own goalkeeper.
It set the Diamonds on course for a late comeback victory, with Lister coming off the bench to net the winner three minutes from time.
