Bristol Rovers are expected to recall top scorer Matty Taylor for their Sky Bet League Two clash at home to Luton.

Taylor, who has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season, was rested for Monday's 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient as Pirates boss Darrell Clarke rotated his squad heavily during the Christmas programme.

Jermaine Easter is likely to stand down for the fixture as Taylor resumes his partnership with on-loan Cambridge striker Rory Gaffney, who scored twice against Orient to make it three goals in as many games.

Midfield pair Ollie Clarke and Jake Gosling hope to be recalled for sixth-placed Rovers after being benched on Monday.

Caretaker manager Andy Awford will again oversee Luton's efforts.

Awford made five changes to the team that drew 0-0 at Portsmouth and he is expected to retain much of that starting XI.

Luke Wilkinson and Nathan Doyle, however, hope to return to contention after recovering from knocks.

Jake Howells is likely to remain in the team, having impressed since being recalled by Awford.
