Reading vs Bristol City - Reading take on Bristol City without suspended Michael Hector

Reading will be without Michael Hector through suspension when they host Bristol City.

The defender, who was bought by Chelsea in the summer and then loaned back to the Royals, was sent off towards the end of Monday's 2-1 defeat by Brentford and serves a one-match ban.

On-loan Benfica winger Ola John is also set to miss out after going off at half-time with a hamstring problem so Matej Vydra could return to the starting line-up.

Midfielder Aaron Tshibola is fit after two months out with an ankle injury.

Kieran Agard hopes to shake off a calf injury to feature for Bristol City.

Striker Agard has missed the last three games as the Robins have slipped into the relegation zone, form which has underlined the need for manager Steve Cotterill to strengthen in the January transfer window.

Cotterill's small squad means he has little room for manoeuvre after Monday's 4-0 thrashing at Burnley dropped them into the bottom three, but he might make one or two changes at the Madejski Stadium.

Joe Bryan, Mark Little and Bobby Reid could be among those to come into the equation as City chase what would be only a second victory in 10 attempts.
