STICK WITH HIM: Moyes has urged United not to sack Van Gaal
The Dutchman's long-term future at Old Trafford is currently in major doubt thanks to the team's woeful displays on the pitch.
United, who lie in sixth place in the Premier League table, have failed to register a victory in their last eight games in all competitions and have only managed to find the back of the net six times during that period.
The three-time European Cup winners' torrid run, and their lack of goals, has caused a number of angry supporters to call for Van Gaal's head.
Moyes, who was sacked by United in April 2014, has sympathy for the former Ajax chief and believes he deserves more time to turn around the team's fortunes.
"I hope they stick with Louis Van Gaal, he deserves more time, it’s still a work in progress for him," he told The Clare Balding Show on BT Sport.
"He’s made some signings, from my experience in Spain it will take time for players from abroad to settle in.
"So, I think they should stick with it. They don’t want to become a club which continuously changes their manager."
