Remi Garde has revealed that Chelsea striker Loic Remy is on his shopping list as the Aston Villa boss looks to resurrect their season.
The Frenchman is still searching for his first win since taking over the reins from Tim Sherwood at the start of last month.
The 2-0 defeat to Norwich on Monday extended Villa's winless run under Garde to eight matches, leaving them rooted to the foot of the table and a massive 11 points adrift of safety at the halfway stage of the campaign.
Remy, meanwhile, is struggling for game time with the Blues, having started just once in the Premier League this term, with a further seven appearances coming from the bench.
Garde believes his compatriot could aid the Villans' survival bid, and will attempt to reunite with the 28-year-old, who was on Lyon's books at the same time he was assistant manager there.
"Loic is a guy I know well, and of course he would be an interesting player for the team," the former Les Gones manager said.
"He is one of some players I'll try to attract to Aston Villa. Loic is a special one because he knows the country and the league.
"I have got some targets who could be at this level without knowing the country and the league.
"I have to work with the players I have currently, but if you don't achieve that too much and you can bring in players with more confidence and with a lot of experience, it could be helpful for the team."
