Airdrie United 0 - 1 Stenhousemuir: Stenhousemuir see off Airdrie courtesy of late Euan Murray goal

Posted Wednesday, December 30, 2015 by PA

Euan Murray's late header saw Stenhousemuir claim a last-gasp 1-0 win over Airdrie at the Excelsior Stadium.

In windy conditions, Stenhousemuir were denied twice in the first half as Airdrie goalkeeper Neil Parry was on hand to comfortably save shots from Colin McMenamin and Jim Paterson.

Nicky Cadden went close in the second half for the hosts but it was the Warriors who sealed the points late on when Murray popped up to head in Alan Cook's 88th-minute corner.

Victory sees Stenhousemuir leapfrog Airdrie into fifth place in the Ladbrokes League One table, three points off a play-off spot.
