Mansfield Town 1 - 1 York City: York survive Mansfield onslaught to secure a point

Dominant Mansfield were left frustrated as struggling visitors York held them to a 1-1 draw.

The Stags had to come from behind but then twice hit the York bar, twice forced good saves from Scott Flinders and saw Matt Green miss a golden close-range chance.

York settled quickest and Femi Ilesanmi drove over from a tight angle on six minutes before the visitors snatched a 10th-minute lead.

Luke Summerfield sent over a free-kick from the left and, as the home back line advanced, Dave Winfield was able to go past them and guide the ball past Brian Jensen with the deftest of touches.

It was almost 2-0 in the 23rd minute but Jensen did well to claw away a Vadaine Oliver header from Bradley Fewster's left-wing cross.

Mansfield finally began to create danger and levelled after half an hour.

Adam Chapman sent over their fifth corner from the right and defender Krystian Pearce guided a headed finish inside the left post from 12 yards.

Craig Westcarr and Reggie Lambe forced early saves from Flinders and in the 64th minute Green somehow turned a golden chance onto the crossbar from five yards as he met a low Nathan Thomas cross from the left.

Six minutes later Lambe shot goalwards from 20 yards and again the York crossbar was left shaking.

Flinders made a good save from a close-range diving header from sub Adi Yussuf from Chapman's cross six minutes from time, but York survived.
