Southend United 0 - 4 Millwall: Neil Harris' Lions roar to victory at Southend

Millwall recorded a convincing 4-0 victory at Southend as Neil Harris enjoyed his return to Roots Hall.

The Lions dominated the game right from the start and opened the scoring after 27 minutes when Joe Martin netted with a shot from 20 yards which flew in off the inside of the left post.

Millwall doubled their lead eight minutes later through an own goal from the Southend goalkeeper. Shaun Cummings' cross struck the inside of a post before hitting Daniel Bentley and going in.

Fred Onyedinma and Steve Morison wasted clear-cut chances to make it 3-0 before the former netted from close range heading into half-time.

The Lions remained on top after the break with Aiden O'Brien having a close-range header well saved by Bentley.

But O'Brien was not to be denied for long as he netted with a fine, left-footed finish to complete the scoring on Millwall boss Harris' return to his hometown club.
