Cambridge United vs Barnet - Cambridge sweating over Ryan Donaldson for Barnet clash

Posted Sunday, December 27, 2015 by PA

Cambridge striker Ryan Donaldson is a major injury doubt for the home game against Barnet.

Donaldson sustained an ankle injury in the Boxing Day win at Dagenham & Redbridge and was replaced early in the second half by Robbie Simpson, who is expected to start after scoring two of the U's goals.

Defender Greg Taylor is struggling with a leg injury that forced him off at Dagenham, but Elliott Omozusi overcame an ankle problem to replace him and could also start.

Right-back Cameron Gayle remains doubtful after pulling his hamstring in last weekend's home draw against Mansfield.

Barnet central defender Michael Nelson is still out and faces three months on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in the recent home win against Crawley.

Bira Dembele and Bondz N'Gala, the club's only remaining senior centre-backs, will continue at the heart of defence.

Boss Martin Allen has no new injury concerns following the Boxing Day success against Newport as his side chase their third straight league win.

Forwards Michael Gash and Kevin Lisbie are pushing for recalls but may have to be patient with John Akinde, who scored both goals against Newport, and Aaron McLean expected to resume up front.
