Stenhousemuir 1 - 5 Stranraer: Stranraer off bottom after five-star show at Stenhousemuir
Posted Sunday, December 27, 2015 by PA
Craig Malcolm netted a brace as Stranraer climbed off the bottom of Scottish League One with a surprise 5-1 victory at Stenhousemuir.
The visitors were without a league win since October 3 and went behind when Ross Meechan grabbed his first goal of the season from close range in the 13th minute, but Stranraer enjoyed a quick change in fortunes with three goals in four minutes around the half-hour mark.
Sam McCloskey set up Malcolm for the equaliser and, after Jamie Longworth's left-foot shot put Stranraer ahead, the same duo combined for McCloskey to add the third.
Malcolm's left-foot shot further extended the lead five minutes into the second half before Steven Bell completed the rout with the fifth from the penalty spot late on.
