Falkirk continued their impressive recent run with a 1-0 home win over Dumbarton to keep the heat on the top two in the Ladbrokes Championship.
The hosts made it eight league games unbeaten thanks to Blair Alston's 36th-minute goal.
Falkirk went into the game with their tails up following their victory over promotion-chasing Rangers last time out and maintained their own push for the top flight when Alston fired into the roof of the net from Will Vaulks' ball in from the left.
And they were never put under any concerted pressure, allowing them to close the gap on Gers and Hibernian to three points, for the time being at least.
