Dagenham and Redbridge vs Cambridge United: Dagenham begin life after Wayne Burnett
Posted Thursday, December 24, 2015 by PA
Dagenham will begin life without former manager Wayne Burnett on Boxing Day in their Sky Bet League Two clash with Cambridge.
Burnett was relieved of his duties on Monday with the Daggers languishing at the foot of the Football League after losing their last three matches, and Warren Hackett and Darren Currie will take caretaker charge.
Midfielder James Dunne will return after a one-game suspension meant he missed the Daggers' 3-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers last weekend.
But forward Zavon Hines (knee) and midfielder Matt Richards (Achilles) remain on the sidelines.
Right-back Cameron Gayle could miss Cambridge's trip to London after pulling his hamstring in their 1-1 draw against Mansfield last weekend.
Gayle was taken off after 15 minutes and U's boss Shaun Derry may be forced to make a change to a side which is unbeaten in four games.
Defender Elliot Omozusi is still recovering from an ankle problem.
Jordan Slew is still pushing for a start after featuring as an unused substitute against Mansfield.
