Although he hasn’t taken over at Bayern Munich yet, Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly already interested in bringing Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain to the German outfit this summer.
The Italian coach is not due to arrive at the German champions until Pep Guardiola’s contract expires in the summer, but he and the club are rumoured to be preparing for a reshuffle in attack according to Sport 1.
Higuain has scored 16 goals in 17 league appearances so far this season, a run of production that has only bolstered his already formidable reputation.
It is thought that Bayern could opt to sell Robert Lewandowski to Ancelotti’s former club, Real Madrid, to help finance the move. The Polish striker has been outstanding for Bayern in his own right this season, but Ancelotti is said to have a soft spot for Higuain after recently admitting he would be happy to coach the Napoli ace.
Given what a crucial figure Higuain has been for Napoli over the last few seasons, his services will not come to Bayern cheaply. Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis has stated in the past that he would only listen to offers of €94 million, the amount of his buy-out-clause, for the Argentine.
