RUMOURS: Chelsea agree £30m Teixeira deal

Chelsea have agreed a £30 million fee for Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira, according to the Daily Express.

The Blues have long been linked with a move for the midfielder, who is one of Europe's top goalscorers this season, having found the back of the net 26 times in 26 league games.

The report claims the Brazilian will sign a five-year deal and join the club in the January transfer window.

If Teixeira does arrive, he will be the first signing of Chelsea manger Guus Hiddink's temporary spell in charge. The Dutchman was handed a six-month deal following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last week.

Goals have been hard to come by for the champions this season: they have scored just 21 times in 17 Premier League games and sit 15th in the table ahead of the festive fixtures.
