Dunfermline 1 - 0 Stenhousemuir: Shaun Rooney scores the winner for Dunfermline

Shaun Rooney hit the only goal of the game as Dunfermline stretched their lead at the top of Ladbrokes League One to six points with a 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir.

Dunfermline were quickly out of the blocks and Faissal El Bakhtaoui sent an early shot narrowly over the bar, while at the often end Jason Scotland dragged an effort wide.

Stuart Malcolm drove a shot straight at Matty Gould and Josh Falkingham fizzed a free-kick narrowly wide as Dunfermline piled on the pressure.

David Hopkirk headed narrowly wide for Dunfermline after the break before Rooney finally broke the deadlock 12 minutes from time when he got on the end of Joe Cardle's low cross to fire home from close range and secure all three points.
