Alloa Athletic vs St. Mirren - Alloa wait on fitness of Michael Chopra and Graeme Holmes

Jack Ross takes Alloa for the first time after his midweek appointment as their manager and he has delayed naming his team to take on St Mirren, who have appointed Alex Rae as their new boss, until fitness checks on Michael Chopra and Graeme Holmes.

Ross said: "It is a new start and hopefully it will be a good start by getting something from this game. I have no pre-conceived ideas and my aim is to get the best from the players here before making changes."

"The team had a good win over Livingston last Saturday and will need to play as well as that again to defeat St Mirren."

The Paisley side, who sit in eighth place in the table, parted company with manager Ian Murray last weekend and after intense speculation Rae has agreed to take over at the helm.

However, his new side will be without the injured Jason Naismith (knee), Alan Gow (ankle) and Jim Goodwin (ankle) at the Indodrill Stadium.

Assistant manager Alex Miller and goalkeeper Jamie Langfield have prepared the squad this week with Langfield saying: "There is ability in this team and we now need to start showing that by winning games. Confidence is low but we will look to restore some of that by winning this game."
