Burnley vs Charlton Athletic - Burnley set for formation switch at home to Charlton

Burnley could revert back to their 4-4-2 formation against Charlton at Turf Moor.

Sam Vokes dropped to the bench at Middlesbrough in midweek as midfielder Dean Marney made his first start since February but that defeat, which extended the Clarets' winless run to six games, coupled with the fact they are back at home, could prompt boss Sean Dyche to go back to two up top.

Dyche has no new injury or suspension concerns and has plenty of options at his disposal as he tries to get their automatic promotion bid back on track.

Ashley Barnes, who the club hope will return before the end of the season, and Lukas Jutkiewicz, who is unlikely to feature again in this campaign, are both out with long-term cruciate problems.

Charlton will be boosted by the return of Patrick Bauer after his two-match ban.

He is likely to return in the centre of defence which should see Alou Diarra moved back into midfield, meaning Jordan Cousins or Johnnie Jackson are likely to lose their place in the team.

Interim head coach Karel Fraeye also has the likes of Simon Makienok and El-Hadji Ba vying for recalls should he wish to make changes elsewhere.

Ahmed Kashi, Cristian Ceballos and Igor Vetokele remain long-term absentees, though the latter two, it is hoped, will return in January.
