Newport County vs AFC Wimbledon - Scot Bennett set to return for Newport

Newport's on-loan defender Scot Bennett should return at home to AFC Wimbledon after sitting out the Exiles' first defeat in 11 games.

Bennett was prevented from playing against his parent club Notts County last weekend and Newport missed his presence as they threw away a two-goal lead to lose 4-3.

Danny Holmes could also come into the Exiles defence for the Dons' League Two visit, but midfielder Yan Klukowski (hamstring) is a major doubt.

Scott Boden is expected to be among the substitutes again despite his goal-scoring cameo at Meadow Lane.

AFC Wimbledon will welcome back goalkeeper James Shea and winger Andy Barcham for their trip to Newport.

Barcham has been sidelined since damaging knee ligaments against Morecambe on October 17, while Shea has also been out of action for a similar period with a groin injury.

Captain Barry Fuller also returns for the Dons after serving a one-match suspension in the 2-1 home defeat against Stevenage last Saturday.

AFC Wimbledon, without a win in their last six outings, are 14th in League Two.
