Walsall vs Chesterfield - Walsall sweat on Tom Bradshaw fitness

Posted Tuesday, December 15, 2015 by PA

Walsall's 12-goal top scorer Tom Bradshaw remains a doubt for the visit of Chesterfield with an ankle injury.

The striker limped off against his former club Shrewsbury at the start of the month and will be assessed by the Saddlers.

Isaiah Osbourne continues to recover from a knee injury which has kept him from making his debut after joining in the summer.

Walsall's game at Fleetwood was called off due to a waterlogged pitch on Saturday and they are still looking for a new manager after the departure of Dean Smith to Brentford two weeks ago.

Chesterfield are also looking for a new manger, with interim boss Mark Smith set to take charge once again for the visit to the Bescot Stadium.

They hope to be boosted by the return of striker Lee Novak, who missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bury with a calf injury.

But Ollie Banks is more doubtful for the Spireites after picking up a knock at Bury, while Richard Wood remains on the sidelines.

Otherwise Smith hopes to name a broadly similar side to the one beaten at Gigg Lane after insisting there is very little wrong with his side's form.
