Peterborough United 1 - 1 Shrewsbury Town: Peterborough's winning run ended by Stevenage

Peterborough saw their winning run ended by their record signing as struggling Shrewsbury picked up a precious point following a 1-1 draw.

Striker Tyrone Barnett climbed off the Shrews bench to haul them level with 11 minutes to go after Posh goalkeeper Ben Alnwick had failed to hold a Sulley Kaikai blast.

Barnett cost Posh B#1.2 million back in 2012, but he managed only 12 goals during a turbulent career at the ABAX Stadium.

His sixth of this season boosted Shrewsbury's survival bid and ensured his old club's six-match winning streak came to an end.

Shrewsbury had fallen behind 11 minutes into the second half when striker Conor Washington collected a searching Erhun Oztumer pass and classily fired his 11th goal of the season past Mark Halstead.

Washington had earlier been denied twice by Halstead in a first-half denied by a serious injury to Shrewsbury midfielder Ian Black, who was carried off after being hurt when making a challenge on Callum Elder in the 43rd minute.

Alnwick twice kept Shrewsbury at bay with smart saves from Scott Vernon and James Collins before Posh hit the front, but he was powerless to stop Barnett levelling.
