Hoffenheim 1 - 0 Hannover 96: Huub Stevens steers Hoffenheim to victory over Hannover

Hoffenheim moved off the bottom of the Bundesliga thanks to a 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Hannover.

Ceyhun Gulselam's header hit the crossbar and the post before coming out to safety as Hoffenheim rode their luck before taking the lead when Tarik Elyounoussi's cross was met by Jonathan Schmid.

Fabian Schar thought he had doubled Hoffenheim's lead moments later, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Huub Stevens' Hoffenheim side then defended resolutely for a win which takes them above Stuttgart and to within a point of Hannover, who are right back in relegation danger after a recent resurgence.
