Mourinho: I didn’t believe Chelsea could lose to Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho has admitted his surprise at Chelsea’s loss to Bournemouth, saying that he didn’t believe the result could happen.
Chelsea’s 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth was their eighth defeat of the Premier League season so far, with four of those coming at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho appears dumbfounded by the poor form of his title-winning squad, and the defeat to Eddie Howe’s struggling Cherries must have come as a shock.
Chelsea looked to be performing well in the game and were unlucky not to take the lead on a few occasions, before a late Glenn Murray header rocked Stamford Bridge and saw Bournemouth leave with all three points.
The Blues attempted 19 shots during the game, whilst also firing in a mammoth 44 crosses – though, only seven of those balls reached the intended target.
The loss was perhaps the most damning indictment of Chelsea’s current situation all season, just at a time when it appeared the club were back on track.
Decent results against Norwich City, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Tottenham Hotspur preceded the loss, though Chelsea recovered with a convincing 2-0 win over Porto in the Champions League this week.
Next up for Mourinho is a trip to the King Power Stadium to face league leaders Leicester City, who also top the division’s goal rankings (32 scored).
The high-flying Foxes have scored in every single Premier League game this season and represent a daunting test for Chelsea’s often shaky back four.
