Cardiff City vs Sheffield Wed. - Cardiff take time to weigh up Lee Peltier fitness

Cardiff are waiting to determine the extent of Lee Peltier's injury before deciding on their squad for Sheffield Wednesday's Sky Bet Championship visit.

Peltier was forced off in the opening quarter of last weekend's 3-2 win at Bolton, but at least Cardiff have a ready-made replacement as Brazilian full-back Fabio marked his return in that game after six weeks out with damaged foot ligaments.

Peter Whittingham is set to remain among the substitutes as manager Russell Slade keeps faith with the players who took the Bluebirds into the play-off positions.

Long-serving midfielder Whittingham made way at Bolton for Anthony Pilkington, who rewarded Slade's decision with a late winner.

Sheffield Wednesday have defender Michael Turner available after he recovered from a knee injury.

The former Sunderland player has been sidelined for almost two months and his return is a boost to manager Carlos Carvalhal and his injury-hit squad.

He said: "We have recovered Turner so we are in better shape than last week. Turner is an important player so we have more options."

Full-back Jack Hunt (calf) is close to fitness but will not be risked while Sam Hutchinson will continue to deputise for Tom Lees (hamstring/ankle) at centre-back.
