Bradford AFC vs Southend United - Devante Cole pushing for Bradford start
Posted Friday, December 11, 2015 by PA
Bradford forward Devante Cole could come into contention for the Sky Bet League One clash against Southend after coming off the bench to score a last-minute goal in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Chesham.
Jordan Bowery, on loan from Rotherham, and Luke James are other strikers who manager Phil Parkinson may consider against the Shrimpers, who are unbeaten in six league matches.
Defender Reece Burke returned after missing five games due to a knee injury, so he will be assessed.
Left-back Greg Leigh came into the side against Chesham and could retain his place ahead of James Meredith. Midfielder Josh Morris continues his rehabilitation following a long-term knee injury.
Southend striker Noel Hunt is in line for a first appearance in three months following his recovery from an ankle problem.
Winger David Worrall returned following a head injury for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at home to Millwall and could retain his place.
Shrimpers boss Phil Brown will, however, again have to utilise his squad given the number of players sidelined.
Gary Deegan was on the bench against the Lions following an ankle problem, while fellow midfielder Michael Timlin is hoping to return to contention following his foot injury. Stephen McLaughlin (toe) is still not fully fit.
