Port Vale vs Scunthorpe United - No new worries for Port Vale

Port Vale have no fresh injury concerns for Saturday's Sky Bet League One home clash with Scunthorpe, where they will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's 2-0 FA Cup loss at Exeter.

Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite put the club up for sale following a cup exit he said had left him feeling "humiliated, ashamed and embarrassed".

Defender Carl Dickinson remains suspended, with two more games of his ban to serve.

Also unavailable is winger Enoch Andoh, out for the rest of the season due to a knee problem, but forward Byron Moore is expected to be fit to return from a slight knock.

Scunthorpe will be without Gary McSheffrey after the forward underwent surgery on a long-term knee injury in midweek.

The injury kept the 33-year-old out of the FA Cup clash against Leyton Orient and he has now gone under the knife in the hope of solving the problem, although Iron boss Mark Robins was reluctant to discuss a timescale for his return.

Midfielder Neal Bishop is available after serving a one-match ban at the Matchroom Stadium while on-loan Tommy Rowe is also back in the fold after being ineligible for the cup tie.

Jamie Ness will be pushing for a start after making his return from a thigh injury off the bench at the weekend while David Mirfin (hamstring) and captain Stephen Dawson (knee) are nearing returns but will miss out.
