Bury vs Chesterfield - Danny Mayor doubt for Bury

Posted Thursday, December 10, 2015 by PA

Bury midfielder Danny Mayor is a doubt for the Sky Bet League One match against Chesterfield because of an ankle injury.

Mayor limped out of the FA Cup win over Rochdale and will be assessed, while right-back Joe Riley (knee) is also a concern.

Striker Danny Rose is hoping to retain his place in the side after netting what proved to be an early winner at Spotland, as on-loan Leicester forward Joe Dodoo is available again after being ineligible for the cup tie.

Goalkeeper Rob Lainton returned from seven games out with a groin tear to make the squad last weekend, but on-loan Stoke stopper Daniel Bachmann is expected to remain between the posts. Shakers midfielders Andrew Tutte and Jacob Mellis both continue their rehabilitation.

Chesterfield will check on Lee Novak after the striker suffered a minor injury in training on Thursday.

Should Novak not make it, caretaker manager Mark Smith will choose between Dan Gardner, Rai Simons and Mani Dieseruvwe to partner Sylvan Ebanks-Blake in attack.

There will definitely be a change in central defence, though, with Richard Wood nursing an abductor injury following the FA Cup draw with Walsall. Charlie Raglan is expected to be recalled in his absence.

Gboly Ariyibi and Ollie Banks are options elsewhere for Smith should he wish to make any more changes in an attempt to gain the Spireites' first win in six games in all competitions.
