Liverpool and Spurs to miss out on Lavezzi who's bound for Italy

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on Paris Saint-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi as the winger favours a move to Italy, as per talkSPORT.

Argentinian Lavezzi has been incessantly linked with a move to the Premier League (as per the Metro), having made it clear he wants out of the Parc des Princes.

A whole host of potential suitors are said to be interested in the pacy attacker’s signature, with Spurs and Liverpool throwing themselves into the mix, as per the report.

But it is now believed that Lavezzi is set to turn his back on interest from England and instead agree a deal in Italy.

According to the aforementioned report, his agent has travelled this week for talks with Juventus and Inter Milan as they look to swoop for the 30-year-old.

The Argentina international’s PSG contract expires at the end of the season and he’ll be available on a free transfer in the summer.

As a result, the Ligue 1 reigning champions might want to cash in on the forward in January while they still can.

Lavezzi rose to European prominence in an impressive five-year stint Napoli before sealing a £24.1 million move to Paris back in 2012 (fee via ESPN FC).

He has since lifted three consecutive Ligue 1 titles but has found himself on the periphery of Laurent Blanc’s first-team plans.

Summer signing from Manchester United Angel Di Maria has subsequently relegated his compatriot to the substitutes bench.

Lavezzi’s made 14 league appearances this term, 11 of which have come from the bench, scoring two goals along the way.

He remains very much sought after and could be available on the cheap, with clubs in Italy leading the race for his services, as per the report.
