Ancelotti 'can wait' for United job
Carlo Ancelotti has acknowledged he is interested in becoming the next manager of Manchester United when Louis van Gaal leaves his post.

Van Gaal has confirmed he intends to retire once his contract at Old Trafford runs out at the end of next season, with the Dutchman hinting that current United assistant manager Ryan Giggs will succeed him.

However, the Red Devils hierarchy are likely to appoint someone with more experience as Giggs only had a four-game spell in charge of the first team when David Moyes was sacked towards the end of the 2013/14 campaign.

Ancelotti is currently unemployed after parting ways with Real Madrid in May and the former Chelsea boss admitted last month he would accept a return to the Premier League if the right offer came along.

Asked in an interview with The Independent whether he fancied the United job, Ancelotti said: "Of course, for every manager, they would all think of managing Manchester United.

"I would like to come back in a club with a good project, but, of course, one that is competitive.
"The Premier League is the best in the sense of atmosphere, ambience. It is also competitive, so I would like to come back, especially for the atmosphere."

The 56-year-old would ideally like to get back in the seat during the off-season, but added: "I will continue to wait. If I don't find a club with a good project, I can wait.

"What will I do? Watching games, fishing, all these things. But let us see next summer. I will not take a job in mid-season, but I would like to work again next summer."
