Deportivo La Coruna 1 - 1 Sevilla: Vicente Iborra strike earns point for Sevilla

Substitute Vicente Iborra salvaged a point for Sevilla in a 1-1 draw at Deportivo.

The midfielder had only been on the field for five minutes - during which he also managed to pick up a booking - when he cancelled out Lucas' opener.

The first chance fell to Sevilla's Yevhen Konoplyanka, who shot narrowly wide with a free-kick from just outside the penalty area.

At the other end Lucas latched onto Jonathan Rodriguez's pass but his shot was too close to Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico.

Lucas made the most of his next opportunity, though, when he thumped a free-kick past the defensive wall and into the bottom corner after 22 minutes.

Konoplyanka went close again on the half-hour mark when he lifted his shot just over the crossbar, before team-mate Kevin Gameiro fired narrowly wide.

Lucas took aim again with another free-kick as half-time approached but this time his effort flew the wrong side of the post.

Depor almost doubled their advantage at the start of the second half but Rodriguez was thwarted by Rico.

Sevilla pressed for an equaliser and Gameiro wasted a decent chance, firing high and wide, before Grzegorz Krychowiak's long-range drive was kept out by home keeper German Lux.

Iborra entered the field in the 71st minute and moments later was shown a yellow card for a reckless challenge.

But he was in the right place to fire home Fernando Llorente's free-kick to earn his side a point.
