Leyton Orient and Scunthorpe will both enter Monday's FA Cup third-round draw after their clash, which was spoiled by a strong and swirling wind, ended goalless.

Orient finished the stronger and should have won the tie on 72 minutes when Ollie Palmer squandered the best chance of the game after being set up by Blair Turgott, but the striker miscued his close-range effort with the goal at his mercy.

Jack Payne and man of the match Jobi McAnuff also went close but little was seen of the visitors in the second period apart from an early chance that ended when Hakeeb Adelakun sent a shot high over the bar.

Chances were also few and far between in the first half and the closest opportunity came in the dying seconds of the period.

Scunthorpe's Luke Williams delivered a corner into the box and the ball was spilled by Orient's teenage keeper Charlie Grainger but skipper Mathieu Baudry was on hand to clear the ball off the line.
