St. Mirren vs Queen of South - St Mirren skipper Jim Goodwin misses Queen's test

St Mirren are looking for their first home win of the season when Queen of the South visit.

But they will be without the services of skipper Jim Goodwin, who has ankle injury, as well Jason Naismith (knee) and Alan Gow (ankle).

The Saints lost 4-0 to Rangers in the semi-final of the Petrofac Training Cup last weekend and manager Ian Murray said: "We know that our first-half performance was not good enough but there elements from the second that we can build on.

"We beat Queen's earlier on this season on a day when we played really well and another performance like that could kickstart our season."

Queen of the South are without the injured Shaun Rutherford (ankle), Callum Tapping (knee) and Dale Hilson (foot) as they look to keep close to the play-off chasing pack.

Manager James Fowler is looking for his players to build on a battling 2-2 draw with Falkirk in their last outing"We were poor for first half an hour in that game but the final hour was our best display of our season," he said.

"If we can play like that for the full game against St Mirren we can win. We have hung in there with the promotion-chasing sides and a win helps us do that even more."
