Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a transfer move for Crystal Palace's James McArthur as the Gunners search for midfield reinforcements.
The impressive Francis Coquelin has been ruled out for around three months after suffering a knee injury in the 2-1 defeat at West Brom.
This injury setback has left Arsene Wenger searching for cover in defensive midfield, and HITC Sport report that the north London club’s attention has turned to Palace star McArthur.
McArthur, who signed a three-year contract with the Eagles last summer from Wigan, has been in fine form for Alan Pardew’s side and has been rewarded with an extension of his deal.
Arsenal scouts are believed to have been sent to monitor the 28-year-old midfielder, who has also made 22 appearances for Scotland.
McArthur has played 17 games for the South Londoners this season and scored two goals in Palace’s 5-1 demolition of Newcastle at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
