Hannover picked up a morale-boosting 4-0 win over Ingolstadt to move away from the relegation zone on Saturday.
The hosts raced into a three-goal lead within 25 minutes, Marcelo heading them in front after just five from Miiko Albornoz's free-kick and Leon Andreasen adding a second with another header just five minutes later.
When Kenan Karaman added a third, it doubled the number of goals Ingolstadt had conceded in all of their previous away games put together this season.
Uffe Bech completed the rout in the 85th minute as Hannover pulled away from the bottom three after inflicting Ingolstadt's heaviest defeat in the Bundesliga.
