Barnsley vs Sheffield United - Barnsley without suspended Kevin Long

Barnsley will be without suspended defender Kevin Long for their home game against derby rivals Sheffield United.

Long starts a three-match ban after being shown a straight red card for a two -footed tackle in the midweek defeat at Peterborough, so Marc Roberts and Lewin Nyatanga will come into contention for a place at the heart of defence.

Winger Ryan Williams is expected to return to the squad and could make only his second appearance of the season following a troublesome groin injury.

Boss Lee Johnson is hoping midfielder Lloyd Isgrove can shake off a knock sustained on Tuesday night as his side bid for their second win in 11 league matches.

Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins is expected to make further changes following his side's 4-2 home defeat to Shrewsbury in midweek.

Midfielder Stefan Scougall missed out on Tuesday night due to a slight hamstring strain and will be assessed, while Louis Reed and striker Conor Sammon hope to resume after returning to the starting line-up in place of Paul Coutts and Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

David Edgar stepped off the bench to make his first appearance since early October after a hamstring injury and is pushing for a start, along with fellow defender Jay McEveley and striker Matty Done.

Adkins has no major new injury or suspension worries as his faltering side chase their first league win in six matches.
