CSKA Moscow 0 - 2 Wolfsburg: Wolfsburg edge closer to Champions League progression with win at CSKA Moscow

Wolfsburg are on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League knock-out stages after winning 2-0 at CSKA Moscow.
Substitute Andre Schurrle scored the second having inspired an own goal from Igor Akinfeev earlier in the second half, securing three points in one of this season's most competitive groups.
Wolfsburg move onto nine points in Group B with just a home match against Manchester United remaining, while CSKA remain in contention to finish third and progress to the Europa League.
The hosts gambled on the fitness of Seydou Doumbia and the pre-match doubt appeared largely isolated, while the composed Bundesliga team retained possession as CSKA conceded it.
The Russian side's greatest chance appeared likely to come on the counter, particularly after Ahmed Musa was moved inside to support Doumbia, but Wolfsburg remained reluctant to commit men forward throughout the first half and nullified that potential threat.
During a more promising start to the second half, the talented Zoran Tosic hit the woodwork with a left-footed shot, beating Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio following a classy drag-back from Alan Dzagoev.
Wolfsburg's crucial breakthrough came in the 67th minute.
Following a long pass from Dante, Bas Dost played a composed touch into Schurrle's path and the forward, despite the angle being against him, sent in a low shot that goalkeeper Akinfeev diverted into the back of his net.
With two minutes remaining, Schurrle scored the goal his earlier effort perhaps deserved.
Following a cut back from the byline by fellow substitute Sebastian Jung, the Germany international sent another low shot goalwards, this time going in via Akinfeev's outstretched foot but registering as his goal.
