Notts County 4 - 2 Barnet: Magpies make a flying start to beat Barnet

Posted Wednesday, November 25, 2015 by PA

Two goals in the opening ten minutes set Notts County on their way to a convincing 4-2 win over Barnet as the Bees' away misery continues.

The Magpies were fast out of the blocks and took the lead in the sixth minute when Adam Campbell teed up Mike Edwards for his fourth goal of the season.

Three minutes later it was 2-0 as the creative Campbell picked out Jon Stead superbly for the forward to fire home his second goal in as many games.

Shaun Batt forced Notts stopper Roy Carroll into a save at his near post but it was the hosts who struck again, when Alan Sheehan scored with a wonderful low shot from 25 yards on 73 minutes.

Aaron McLean pulled one back for Barnet, who have won just once on the road all season, with a free-kick before Edwards headed in his second just a minute later.

Luke Gambin made the scoreline a little more respectable for Barnet in stoppage time with a clinical finish that beat Carroll at his near post.
