Hertha BSC Berlin 1 - 0 Hoffenheim: Hoffenheim remain bottom after narrow defeat at Hertha Berlin

Hoffenheim conceded their first goal and suffered their first defeat under Huub Stevens as Hertha Berlin continued their excellent season with a 1-0 win in the snow at the Olympiastadion.
Eugen Polanski scored an own goal when trying to clear Marvin Plattenhardt's free-kick after half an hour, and that proved to be the only goal of the game, which was played in blizzard conditions in the German capital.
The snow eased off in the second half, but Hoffenheim were unable to find their feet, although they were nearly gifted an equaliser in stoppage time when John Anthony Brooks only just turned the ball past his own goal rather than in.
The defeat leaves Hoffenheim, who had drawn their previous two games 0-0 under Stevens, rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga table and without a win in six matches.
