Sporting de Gijon 0 - 3 Levante: Rubi celebrates his first win as Levante coach

Levante made the most of Sporting Gijon's defensive frailties to beat the Asturian side 3-0 at El Molinon and pick up their first win under coach Rubi.
Brazilian forward Deyverson scored twice either side of a strike by Morocco international Zouhair Feddal to give the visitors an unassailable three-goal lead before half-time, while Sporting's Jony had a penalty saved in the second half.
The victory was just the second win for Levante this season and lifts them off the bottom of the Primera Division table and up to 18th, while Sporting slumped to a fourth successive defeat and drop down to 15th place, although just two points better off than Levante.
The hosts played with more ambition throughout the game but were unable to cause any real danger to Levante, and were let down by their shaky back line. The defence failed to properly clear a corner in the 18th minute which lead to Deyverson forcing a save from Ivan Cuellar and then following up the rebound to open the scoring.
Levante's second also came on the rebound, Zouhair appearing to slot into an empty net after Cuellar had saved a cross-shot from Jose Luis Morales.
Deyverson then grabbed his second and Levante's third goal on the stroke of half-time, again capitalising on Sporting's inability to clear a corner.
Sporting were handed a chance to get back in the game just after the hour mark when they were awarded a penalty, but Jony failed to take the opportunity, and his weak effort was saved by Ruben Martinez.
