Stranraer 0 - 0 Forfar Athletic: Stranraer and Forfar share the spoils
Posted Sunday, November 22, 2015 by PA
Stranraer and Forfar were unable to find the breakthrough as they played out a goalless draw at a rain-drenched Stair Park.
Stranraer went into the game with only one point from their previous five while Forfar were without a win in eight so the outcome was not a complete surprise, although both sides created plenty of chances.
Luciano Nequecaur was a major threat for Stranraer in the first half and he twice tested Rab Douglas early on before later firing a great opening straight at the veteran custodian.
Nequecaur also saw an effort chalked off for offside while Craig Malcolm was denied by Douglas before the break as Stranraer pushed for the opener.
Forfar, who saw Derek Young head a good opening over on the half-hour mark, started to take control in the second half with the midfielder testing David McGurn and Iain Campbell firing just wide.
The visitors pushed for the winner in the closing stages but in the end the spoils were shared.
