Southend United vs Blackpool - Southend midfielder Stephen McLaughlin misses Blackpool clash
Posted Sunday, November 22, 2015 by PA
Southend must again do without midfielder Stephen McLaughlin for the visit of Blackpool.
The winger has been sidelined since the start of November with a foot problem but scans showed only severe bruising so he could return sooner than expected.
Defender Adam Thompson is hoping to retain his place following his return from a long-term shoulder injury.
Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth remains out after ankle surgery while forward Noel Hunt and midfielder Gary Deegan also continue their rehabilitation from ankle problems.
Andy Little is in line to make his Blackpool debut at Roots Hall.
The winger signed on loan from rivals Preston this week and could be joined in the squad by full-back Hayden White (hamstring), who has trained over the past couple of days.
The Seasiders have also had a positive update on goalkeeper Colin Doyle, who does not require surgery on his ankle problem and could now be back before Christmas.
However, Emmerson Boyce (groin) is unlikely to return until next week while Henry Cameron (knee) is out for the season and Lloyd Jones (ankle) is also missing.
