MANCHESTER UNITED legend David Beckham believes Memphis needs to be inspired and not intimidated by wearing the No.7 shirt at Old Trafford.

Memphis signed for the Red Devils from PSV in the summer in a £24m deal but has struggled to make an impact.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club the No.7 shirt has been worn by Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia and Angel di Maria.
"I don't see it as an intimidation, I see it as a honour," Beckham told the Manchester Evening News.
"When you get given the No.7 shirt it doesn’t matter who has worn it in the past or what that player has achieved in the past.
EMBRACE IT: David Beckham has told Memphis to be inspired by wearing the No.7 shirt
HISTORY: David Beckham played a charity match at Old Trafford and was replaced by son Brooklyn
"At the end of the day it is a special shirt to wear but I don't think personally that it comes with any pressure.
"It always was an inspiration for me. It was never my shirt. It was George Best's, Bryan Robson's, Eric Cantona's.
"The only reason I wanted to wear the No.7 shirt was because of these players. The No.7 shirt is a special shirt for Man Utd. It always has been and it always will be.
"Whatever has been happening over the last couple of years with it doesn't interest me personally.
STRUGGLE: Memphis has been dropped in favour of Jesse Lingard in recent United games
"I just want Manchester United to do well as a club and continue to be one of the best or the best in the world."
Memphis has been replaced in the starting line-up by Jesse Lingard in recent games by Louis van Gaal.
United return to Premier League action on Saturday at 12:45pm against Watford.
