Florentino Perez salutes Raul Gonzalez

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez posted a tribute to Raul Gonzalez Blanco on the club's official website, describing the iconic forward as "a legend in Real Madrid's legend".

"Every Real Madrid supporter is aware of the true importance of his gigantic role. Raul is an essential figure in Real Madrid's recent history. Raul embodies the essential values and principles that are enshrined in the sacred code of Real Madrid", the 'Los Blancos' supremo stated.

Perez went on to call it a "special feeling" to reflect on the retirement of "one of the greatest players in our legendary club history".

Raul, in Florentino's words, proved himself to be "an example of honesty, hard work, the ability to resist defeat and passion for football" both during his 16 years at the Bernabeu and throughout the rest of his now concluded playing career.
