Cowdenbeath made it four games unbeaten to go three points clear of the Scottish League One relegation play-off spot with a convincing 3-0 victory over bottom club Brechin.

Dean Brett bagged his third goal of the season with a 10th-minute penalty after Brechin defender Ross Perry handled in the area.

The Miners doubled their advantage after 76 minutes when Aldin El-Zubaidi cleverly placed his shot past goalkeeper Graeme Smith before forward Greig Spence secured the three points in the last minute, his seventh goal of the season.

Darren Dods' Brechin are now a point off ninth-placed Stranraer, who play Peterhead on Tuesday, while Cowdenbeath stay in eighth place.
