Yeovil Town 2 - 2 Stevenage Borough: Yeovil suffer heartbreak as Tom Pett earns Stevenage a point

Stevenage struck late on to deny Yeovil a first win in nine league matches as a compelling game ended 2-2 at Huish Park.

Harry Cornick and Shaun Jeffers netted either side of Dean Wells' equaliser in an enthralling second half that saw three goals in just six minutes, before Tom Pett headed home just two minutes from time to snatch a share of the points.

After a first half of little action, Cornick gave Yeovil the lead after 52 minutes when he beat two Stevenage defenders before slotting a drive from distance past Chris Day.

The visitors were made to wait just three minutes to get back into the game when Wells rifled home as Yeovil failed to clear a corner, but it was just three further minutes before the hosts were back in front, Jeffers rising highest to meet Matt Dolan's corner with a bullet header that flew past Day for his first Glovers goal.

Yeovil almost added a third late on when Ryan Dickson's free-kick crashed against a post, and were made to pay for that miss just moments later when Pett headed home a Connor Ogilvie free-kick.
